English as a Rock Star
English is a language that many people aspire to learn. Because it’s a lingua franca (universal language) people think that it’s special. But it’s far from being refined or sophisticated. All its complexity has been sanded down by centuries of adult invaders trying to speak it as best they can. As a result, it is a relatively easy language to learn. Don’t give it the respect of the gentleman who wears freshly pressed underwear. English is simply a rock star. It has a lot of celebrity and everyone knows it, but it’s not beyond waking up with vomit on its pillow.
