Is It a Baa or Faa?
Why are we so insistent on using video in the All English courses? When we learn a language we think we are just learning sounds, but in fact communication is so much more. Previously, I’ve discussed using gestures in supporting both communicating a message and in cognitive processing. But body language includes more than gestures. It also includes the visual cues we take from looking at the speaker’s mouth. This is very evident in the McGurk Effect.
