Creating Direct Connections Through Hyper-Immersion
The All English program is unique as an English immersion program. It takes the immersion process to a higher level that we call hyper-immersion.
English is traditionally taught in the students first language. When you learn new words there is a translation process that happens. The student is given an English word and the teacher finds the closest word in the student’s language and defines it for them. When the student needs to recall or say the term, they think of the concept in their native language and then work to recall what the English equivalent is. It’s a very conscious process that requires a lot of processing by your brain. It takes time for your brain to do this work. Unfortunately for the student, communication happens fast. As a result, they can’t hear or understand what’s said. And when they try to respond, their speech is slow and broken.
To understand and speak English fluently, you need to bypass the translation process. This is why immersion is so powerful. Your native language is removed from the learning process.
Living in an English speaking country provides a perfect environment for learning English, but there is a problem with this type of immersion: You encounter words and language concepts in a random way that makes it difficult to identify patterns and understand what’s being communicated.
The All English program solves this problem with a structured hyper-immersion process. Like any immersion process, we only use English. But unlike traditional immersion where you are exposed to language concepts randomly, we flood or barrage your mind with dozens of images and videos that represents a concept as we repeat the sound of the word. We illustrate the concept in context and infuse it with emotion and meaning.
A direct connection between the sound and the concept is firmly implanted in your brain’s neural pathways. You hear the word “fire”, for example, and instantly think “fire”, all without having to translate. This is exactly what make immersion in a foreign country so effective. We dramatically accelerate the process, so instead of taking months to make permanent “sound to concept” connections, we do it in mere minutes.
